Volunteering with Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation offers a hands-on opportunity to make a meaningful impact on local conservation efforts. Wildlife Friendlier Fencing

2026 FENCE DATES: 5/30, 6/17, 6/27, 7/8, 7/25, 8/26, 9/19, 10/3

Remove or modifies harmful fencing to restore migration corridors and reduce wildlife injury and mortality. By working with landowners, agencies, and volunteers, the program helps animals move freely and safely across the landscape.

Invasive Weed Removal

2026 WEED DATES: 5/23, 6/3, 8/1, 8/8, 8/19

The invasive weed removal program targets non-native plants that threaten wildlife habitat. Removing these species restores native ecosystems and improves forage.

Riparian Restoration

2026 RIPARIAN DAYS: 9/1, 9/2

A brand-new habitat project will be launched where we will be constructing Beaver Dam Analogs to help restore a stream following the Pack Trail Fire. 

Nature Mapping Volunteer

Teton County, Idaho and Wyoming

Volunteering is ongoing, sign up to get details on the next training!

Collect wildlife data to support conservation efforts. Your observations inform research and help protect regional wildlife. Training is required, making it an accessible opportunity for nature enthusiasts! Sign up to receive more information on the next training date.

Pika Surveys

Training is in June, surveys between July and September

Survey alpine habitats to monitor American pika populations in partnership with Wyoming Game & Fish Department. Your observations contribute to population trend data that informs statewide conservation efforts. Training is required, email Zoë for more information zoe@jhwildlife.org 

Mountain Bluebird Nestbox Volunteer

Jackson, WY

Check nest boxes, record data on nesting activity, and support efforts to conserve bluebird populations in the region. Training is required. Email Zoë to learn more zoe@jhwildlife.org 

Moose Day Volunteer

Jackson, WY

Volunteer for Moose Day, a one-day annual event in February, to survey moose populations and support conservation efforts. Reach out to zoe@jhwildlife.org if you have questions.
