Living Compatibly in Jackson Hole Resources

The Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation is a tax exempt organization founded in 1993 by concerned citizens to help protect our valley’s wildlife. Human activities and development have affected wildlife’s movement, ability to forage, safely cross roads and overall ability to survive.

Challenges to wildlife include fencing, electrical power lines, high mortality on roads, private feeding of wildlife, unconstrained pets and winter range closure violations. Many of these human-caused situations are unintended, and can be remedied by removing obstacles, providing information to the community, and making sure that government officials take wildlife needs into account when approving human development.

The Jackson Hole Wildlife Foundation draws upon the knowledge and experience of wildlife experts to help solve these complex problems. By sharing this information in these resources with the community, many of the difficult situations faced by wildlife can be greatly improved. Ultimately, positive changes occur when people are well-informed and make efforts within their everyday lives to live compatibly with wildlife.
